New documentary will launch events
to honor an artist and poet in New Hampshire
See What's Whispered
The Legacy of David C. Baker
He was a locally beloved and admired artist who lived in Jackson, New Hampshire. His art was radically different, inventive, figurative, abstract, and always changing. He nurtured art in the White Mountains by having figurative drawing groups come to his house to draw from a model for almost fifteen years. He offered his friendship and advice to artists of every level and gave so much to the "valley". In his last decade he wrote witty and insightful poetry. When he died of cancer ten years ago, hundreds of admirers grieved.
I wanted to produced a documentary about him but instead of one person creating it, I am getting his whole community involved! Everyone is invited to share their Baker collections of drawings, paintings, letters, stories, memories and to be interviewed for a complete documentary which will be finished and ready to purchase in September 2012. Many events will be going on in the North Conway, in New Hampshire slated for September 2012. Learn more.
